The crepes (unfilled ones called shells) were 5 star in my book. Friendly service and a nice kids menu (my 4 year old got pancakes and OJ for $2.99) and hubby had Huevos Rancheros with a side of (not very pumpkin-y) pumpkin pancakes (small upcharge). We ate ourselves silly and had excellent service from our friendly waitress. You pay at the cashier. A good choice for a filling pancake breakfast. Note: The pancake batters contain peanut oil, so if you have a nut or peanut allergy - go elsewhere.

Loud, loud loud loud loud..... This place echoes, and is filled with typical West Boca jerks, the kind who give Boca Raton a bad name (think Jersey Shore refugees). They seated me instantly at 11 AM on a Sunday, and food arrived quickly. Food cost about twice what it should have.

omlette baked with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese. You cut it open and cheese pours out...what more is there to say.

I am a HUGE fan of Original Pancake House - mostly for their delicious Dutch Baby pancakes. Basically its a puffy (almost like a collapsed soufflé) which you dress with lemons and powdered sugar. It is DELICIOUS although it takes up to 20 minutes to cook. Everything else I have had at this chain (in various locations) has been great. The apple pancake has a delicious caramelized apple crust and is also huge. Service here was good - although for a weekday it took a bit for the waitress to get around to us. It looked like she had WAY too many tables. The decor is 1980's wood paneling although it is not as endearing as the old-school california ones from the 50's. If you ever find yourself in Anaheim you MUST go to the OPH there for the true experience. The do serve dinner on select nights (call for details) which is rare for OPH and they also have a somewhat obnoxious sign at the entrance saying they reserve the right to ask you to leave after you have been seated for an hour on weekends.

Good service, big portions, COFFEE, and it was good too. I got the turkey sausage with eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. I would go back. Just be ready for a bit of a wait for Sunday brunch.
(4)Joe M.
Came with a group of twelve so can not complain about 1/2 hour wait. Waitress was very friendly and has been here for several years. No complaints from anyone about various types of waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Offred sugar free syrup. A bit slow on the coffee refills but the place was packed the day after Christmas. $100 for 12 plus tip not so bad.

Until this place gets its act together, I will not be coming back....if ever. Was told 20-30 minutes for sitting for 6. We were also told that we were at the top of the list for this party seating. An hour and a half later, we were than told that we were no longer at the top of the list. Needless to say we left and headed to First Watch, where we were seated immediately.

Two words. Danish Baby. Mind blown. Amazing coffee. Creative dishes. Great and fast service. Will be back next time I'm in soflo. Everyone is talking about the dishes taking forever or the wait being long. On a Saturday or Sunday morning the wait is long at every breakfast joint. Also, the menu tells you what dishes take 20 minutes and 30 minutes. If you want a quick breakfast put some bread in your toaster. I loved this place and would love to see one in Orlando.
(5)Lauren W.
Always a great breakfast here. Good selection. I love the pancakes. One of my favorite breakfast locations. It's just always busy.

I'm torn with the Original Pancake House. The original one off Palmetto was good for many years, despite seeing the occasional roach. Sunday it was the go-to spot for a good hearty breakfast. The dutch baby or that humongous apple pancake was breakfast, lunch in dinner all in one. These places are chains but none are too alike in quality, consistency and service. I loved this place, then came First Watch. Healthier, cleaner, fresher and great pancakes too. The German family who owned this place on Palmetto sold it to a nice Indian family. They opened where Wilts used to be. A place that was really only used for Halloween costumes once a year. They gutted it and made this a nice place once again. Prices increased, surprise surprise. Menu changed a bit to get that Ihopy feel and attract more families. It lost some of its originality but gained a lot of personality. The food seems similar in taste, but the big gripes here are the hit or miss service and the ridiculous wait times. Plus your check will make you thinking why didn't you go for a breakfast at Luna Rosa or even Sundy House (yes it can get very expensive). It almost doesn't matter the time you come, there will be people lining up outside waiting for a table all weekend long. You would think Joel Osteen was holding a service inside, or maybe Benny Hinn is more fitting. Either way, I can't justify waiting over an hour for this kind of place. It's better than Ihop for sure and the menu options are a lot better for breakfast food but the wait. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit -- I ain't got time for that.
(3)Miranda P.
Really good food. Hugeeee portions. Super poor service, but I think it was just our waiter. I would still highly recommend this place as far as food goes. There omelets are unique in which they are baked, and they are so fluffy! The pancakes are so tasted.. And the orange juice is literally fresh squeezed before your eyes. Will be back, but will just ask for a different waitress :)
(4)Dawn E.
I hate waiting for breakfast, but it was coincidentally Father's Day so they get a pass and the wait was pretty much right what they quoted. Our server was friendly but flaky and it took a while to flag him down when we were ready to order (although he did put in the order for one of my companion's Dutch Baby when he took the drink order because we requested it start cooking - that thing can take 30 minutes!) But once we ordered, the food came out quickly. The kitchen got our easier meals out with my friend's Dutch Baby and everything was hot and fresh. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the banana brown sugar french toast was pretty good, as was the citrus sauce they provided with it. I do have a grip about the french toast. The center was all bread - no egg. The smaller better cooked pieces of home fries were really good but the larger pieces were too gooey and bland. Overall, good local breakfast choice.

The first thing you'll notice when you're here on a busy day is the noise level. This place can get LOUD. If you're looking for a quiet place for a weekend brunch, avoid at all costs. However,if you're okay with the volume, the food pretty good. I usually get the sausage and eggs, which is served with a choice of hash browns or home fries, I'd recommend the home fries, as the hash browns are often undercooked. The orange juice is really fresh. Probably the best orange juice from any restaurant in Boca. The pancakes have a unique taste and you can upgrade them with extras such as fresh strawberries and whipped cream. All together, if it weren't for the noise, this would be my favorite breakfast spot in town.
(4)Bill S.
This is the new location and the restaurant is a HUGE improvement over the old location. The new place is CLEAN, larger, and much better. Even the food tastes better. Unfortunately, the weekend lines are huge, so I only visit on the weekdays or after the 11am-1pm weekend rush is over.
(4)Samantha K.
Ok. So it can get a little noisy here bc it's packed with so many people. I don't need to talk when I get there because the food is so good that I won't have time to talk. I'll be guzzling the ever so super fresh squeezed oj, scarfing down pancakes and you have GOT to try the crepes! Delicious!!!
(5)Michael K.
I have eaten at this restaurant chain in New Jersey and Florida and usually love the food. I probably have eaten there 50 times over the years. I ate at this Boca branch for the first time. I happened to meet the owner. He was unfriendly. The server was horrible. Came to our table and asked if we were ready to order 2 minutes after sitting down. She was curt, rude and unpleasant. She messed up our order and insisted rudely that she did not. The eggs and most especially the pancakes were far below the usual standard for the restaurant chain. The cashier was rude and did not thank us for coming. All the staff appeared to be intimidated by the owner. STAY AWAY!
(1)Jonathan M.
I actually really like coming here for breakfast. Their pancakes are really tasty and so are the sides. Service is always consistent, quick, and friendly.
(4)Dave R.
Unique breakfast items, breakfast served all day, quality ingredients, staff knows what they're doing. It's delicious.
(5)Susie L.
When you need a fantastic breakfast, a cheerful smile and endless cups of coffee look no further than the Original Pancake House in Boca. We tumbled into this restaurant after a grueling 12 hour international flight (where they lost all our luggage). Our server warmly greeted us and provided us with fantastic suggestions that made us feel right at home. Thanks so much for making us feel happy, stuffed and grateful to be back home again!

My sole prior experience with the Original Pancake House franchise was in Champaign, IL, where the restaurant is deservedly grotesquely popular for weekend brunches. The atmosphere is cozy there, the prices modest, and the food well-made. On Glades Road, though? The atmosphere is cafeteria-like. Cold, color-bland perfunctory booths and tables spread out in yawning, naked way (the decor might as well heavily feature mops and buckets) might speak to the sheer volume of customers, but there are ways to arrange seating such that one is not overwhelmed by a panopticon effect. I paid about ten dollars for lousy coffee and a waffle with sausages. The sausages were OK, actually; better than I'd expect from a chain, and that befits OHP's reputation. The waffle was garbage, though. As though poured from a carton and singed by a toaster. Even dingy diners do right by cultivating a kind of cozy low-expectations charm, but this place has just slightly more charm than a feeding trough. If you've got a family to fill up, you can do that here and then hit the gas station; get it all done in one trip. But if you're looking for a breakfast experience that isn't borderline-depressing, head elsewhere.
(2)Jennie F.
This place is okay, nothing great. I asked for extra pickles and the waitress only brought one more pickle. Again, nothing really great about the service or food. The buckwheat pancakes are very heavy and stiff.
(2)Lisa L.
I was here for dinner with my family, 3 adults and 2 Kids. The place is pretty cool and thr service is fast and really good. I had the marinated grilled chicken with a salad and I was happy with my choice. The servings are pretty big, you definitely don't leave the place still hungry. I also tasted "pigs on a blanket", sausages rolled in a pancake and I kinda like those. The baked omelettes look delicious and everyone who tasted one said it was yummy. the kids loved their pancakes and there were no left overs. The price is reasonable and the menu is okay.
(3)Virginia S.
Wow! It's a long time since I was in here. Super clean and friendly. Good food, served up quickly.
(4)Karen S.
One of the best breakfast places I've been to. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait but it's well worth it in the end
(5)Fran Z.
I have been coming to this pancake house since I was a little girl. Even after management changes the restaurant maintained its originality. The service is always outstanding Mo and his family are very hospitable. Food is always amazing.
(5)Joyce L.
Had an awesome breakfast, great value, great service!!! Would definitely go back again!

In my numerous visits over the years, I have to begin with the disclaimer that the the timing of your visit and what you order can make a huge impact of your expectations and overall rating of this restaurant. I went with 4 family members at 7:45am on a Saturday and had no wait at all. However, we have also had experienced much longer wait times, especially as you get closer to 9am on a weekend. I've noticed there are often families with very small children, and the noise carries so it's not typically the quietest place. The overall atmosphere feels like your classic all-American diner. The baked omelette I ate was a unique twist for me (picture posted,) as it fluffs up and doesn't look like what you'd expect. Well cooked and delicious, but it was the only breakfast joint I've been to without Chalula hot sauce, which I usually douse my eggs in, so that was a let down (they do have Tabasco, though.) I've also had chocolate pecan pancakes here which are fantastic, and for years my family's favorite was the Dutch baby-- a unique "thin pancake" you cover with lemon and powdered sugar and won't see on a restaurant elsewhere. Overall, I always look forward to coming here. 3-stars simply because unless you order one of the unique items, it's a pretty standard, consistently "good" breakfast.
(3)Kimberly L.
Outstanding. Joe was our waiter. Total pro! Very efficient service. Belgian waffle awesome! Will be back!
(5)Manuela B.
The food, service and atmosphere is all perfect!! I've been coming to this location with my family for over 2 years when we moved to Boca. We come here every Sunday and have our favorites. On week days when the kids don't have school we come here and kids eat free with an adult entree purchase. Doesn't get better than this and they offer a rewards card.
(5)William Clyde L.
I had the swedish lingonberry crepes. It was okay. not bad. The coffee was fair. All in all the breakfast was all right. It could have been better. It's better than Ihop.

This review is written based on 3-4 visits over the past 6 months. Overall, the service is what you expect from this type of restaurant... it's service. Nothing spectacular, nothing awful. But I'm compelled to write after our experience yesterday on Mother's Day. After a long 45 minute wait (not complaining, we expected it), we were seated with a major attitude because our 8 week old daughter is in a stroller. We "should have told them that" when we checked in. Well, my wife tried to tell the host/hostess twice after we checked in, and was just brushed off with an "okay" because apparently they were too busy to bother. Server arrived promptly, the food came fast (although the server wrongfully assumed that we were ordering off of the kid's menu for our son, when in fact we were not). Honest mistake I suppose, but you shouldn't make assumptions. Then, about ¾ of the way through our meal (my plate was nowhere near empty), our server came by and dropped the check off at our table. She didn't ask if we wanted the check, she didn't ask if we were done, she didn't ask if we needed anything else. I was SHOCKED. After that point, it was a struggle to get anything else. I needed more coffee. My wife needed more water. We had to wave her down (which I hate doing as a customer because I feel like it's very rude) because she was no longer coming back to the table. Each time we asked for something, she would roll her eyes or make some other face that made it clear we were a bother to her. I kept my mouth shut and quietly asked for the manager after paying my bill. As I tried to explain the situation, he brushed me off with an "I'm really sorry that happened to you..." as he was walking away from me. While I was still talking. He didn't even let me finish. It's evident where the attitude comes from. If the manager is going to treat customers like this, what can you expect from servers? It's a shame, because we like the food, but I can't bring myself to come back to a place that is more concerned with turning over their tables than with the experience of a paying customer. 2.5 stars because you didn't fail me in the past, but on Mother's Day you failed miserably. I believe I overheard that the manager's name was Mohammed. So, if you are reading this, I hope that you learn something.

GroupOn and the desire for breakfast brought me to this location. My fiance and I were so excited to visit but honestly the service was disappointing. As we arrived, there were a total of four parties waiting to be seated. However, there was only one girl who was cashing out guests and could not attend us so the line kept growing. Once we were finally seated our waiter came to ask us for our drink orders and the followed with our food order. It took forever to receive our food! So long... and once we did receive it we had to wait around for our waiter to ask for refill, ketchup and our missing french toast. Which wasn't even the way we ordered it. Honestly, we just didn't even have the energy to send it back. At the point, our waiter just brought us the bananas on the side, literally. To get our check was the same experience just waiting around. I don't think I will be back here. This restaurant was not even busy enough for the staff to be so distracted. Not a reccomendation.

The Original Pancake House sports a few unique menu options, but fails to deliver on its promises. All the food here comes in big portion sizes, and even then they still add on pancakes. Take the omelets for example, which can take up to 20 minutes to make because of the way they are cooked; they appear quite large and comes with a side of three pancakes for a little over $8. I'm not a fan of the omelets though, as the ratio of egg to whatever else you add in it is too much in favor of the egg, like 80:20. Skip the omelets and stick to one of their other dishes like pancakes or waffles. The eggs are also cooked weird, and the hash browns have no flavor whatsoever. The whipped cream here is made fresh, and excellent, I could just eat that as a meal. The price can be deceiving because almost everything comes with an additional side of pancakes, which boosts the cost. You get a good amount of food for the price, even though any add-ons will be up-charged. Whipped cream is almost always an up-charge, which is a sad way to to make a quick extra buck at the expense of the customer. This place is almost never empty and their is sometimes a bit of a wait here especially on the weekend, but it's usually not that long. As a result of the place being packed, the waitresses are a bit aloof to the needs of the customers. If you need something from your waitress, be sure to ask her when you see her, because you may not see her again. Not to say there service here is bad, but they could check up on the customers a tad bit more. Atmosphere here is also almost nonexistent, as they just have a bunch of booths and tables, and almost nothing on the walls to liven the place up and give it a sense of identity. All the windows add a ton of natural light that is nice, but other than that, there isn't really anything here to catch your eye. I can't say I'm in love with the food they serve here, or really anything here for that matter. Maybe if the prices were cheaper I'd be more inclined to enjoy Original Pancake House, but instead I have just contempt for here. Considering all the other breakfast/brunch joints in the area, I steer clear of here whenever I can. Food (C), Pricing (C), Atmosphere (C-), Service (C+)
(2)Dave H.
So, problems: the coffee is HORRENDOUS, which is a big problem for a breakfast joint...but those sourdough pancakes are literally perfect, just perfect! Sadly, about 1/2 of the other breakfast items were once again mediocre to, in the case of the eggs florentine, poor. Fresh squeezed OJ gets a bump up... Mixed bag, once again. Sourdough pancakes totally rule over the specials like apple baby fritters. Waitress noticed the coffee problem, took off the charges without being asked, so service tips the scale from 2/3 to a bona fide 3.5...so 3 this time, 4 last time.
(3)Cheryl K.
Came here to have breakfast for dinner. Love this place. Their pancakes are rich and delicious. This evening we actually went with their Dutch style pancakes - Dutch baby and Apple baby. They were delicious! Dutch baby is basically a giant popover that is light, eggy, slightly sweet. It comes with powdered sugar and on the side more sugar, whipped butter and fresh lemons. Amazing! Apple baby is the Dutch baby with apples/sugar baked into it (picture apple pie filling). Of course, my daughter got that topped with ice cream. I believe the ice cream was homemade. My daughter also had the most delicious chocolate milk ever. Oh and our server was excellent and the manager kept checking on all of the tables
(5)Louise L.
First off you need to know not to order the baked egg whites. LOL I don't know what the heck that was! Sorry, I was laughing the moment it was set on the table. Order this instead... Pancakes, Waffles, Apple Baby, Crepes, burgers. Some of the staff are very nice some are let's just say tired. I am not sure what happened to the hostess "Lexi" but she was very nice. This is a great place for breakfast;you just have to know what to order. OH and don't order a side of canned vegetables. LOL
(3)Mary Beth I.
Original Pancake House has great Food and the service is fantastic. Down side is its always busy and you may have to wait for a table and the restaurant is a little noisy.
(5)Naomi W.
Love this place! The fresh squeezed orange juice is one of the best. The omelets are amazing! Service is great. Very accommodating to gluten free diet. Family friendly too!
(5)S K.
Food is ok. Prices are ok, but if you have more than 6 in your party expect a long wait. 50 minutes and we still are not seated yet we were told 10-15 minutes. Waited an hour and left
(2)Randy B.
This place is just ok with me but if you have family in town and you want some decent breakfast then stop here and grab something to eat
(2)Toria F.
Impressed with the service at this location. Our waiter, Luke was very good. The food was good, although I'm still trying to get used to the way some of the foods taste in Florida, i.e., the pancakes, bagels, pizza..even though I try not to eat much of that anyway...lol The Dutch baby was really good. My husband ordered it and I had a few bites. I would recommend this restaurant.
(4)Diane N.
We went for breakfast on Mother's Day. We got there early so we didn't have to wait for a table. A nice touch was giving all the ladies a carnation when they came in. I had three buttermilk pancakes. They were light and delicious. My mom enjoyed the senior egg and pancakes. My husband had the continental crepes. He loved them. I tried one of his crepes and it was delicious. My cousin had his favorite, the silver dollar pancakes with strawberries. We all enjoyed our breakfasts. The coffee was great and our server kept refilling our coffee cups. The service was attentive and friendly.
(4)Marisa B.
Chocolate chip waffles are to die for and the whip cream it comes with is out of this world. The server Joe is fantastic!!
(4)Nin S.
Big portion, small price, great taste.
(5)Steve S.
I love my folks. I really do. However, I am always skeptical about their choice of restaurants. Florida is home to hundreds of strip malls with their thousands of mediocre restaurants. Perhaps, the sun has baked their taste buds right out of their heads. They are my folks and their latest rave was best omelet ever at The Original Pancake House no less. I sadly accompanied them on their latest culinary expedition. The Original Pancake House was larger than expected and was an open space. Unoriginal, yet its about the food At The Original Pancake House, they bake their omelets. They do not throw em on a skillet or griddle like pretty much everywhere. Baking an omelet puffs it up, so the puffy product looks like a football..literally It was also delicious...really tasty. The buckwheat pancakes were quite good as well. The Original House also offers freshly squeezed OJ and even gluten free treats. I liked The Original. Good choice Ma and Pa...then again, you were due...
(4)Denise O.
I've driven by this place many times and never noticed it was there for some reason. However, I'm really happy that I finally did because when we ate there it was great. My friends and I went to lunch and it was pretty packed, and the place is HUGE compared to what I expected from seeing it on the outside. It's in a strip mall and I just expected it to be smaller I guess. It's not fancy, but it's brunch ;-) Anyway, we had the normal brunch fare, and everything was really great. And the best bonus was that the kids meals were absolutely free, I was in shock! They were big portions for kids meals. I would definitely go again because we had a really good experience with the service, food and the pricing was great!
(4)Evan R.
I've been coming to this place for years, even when it was at its old location. The breakfast is hearty, stick-to-your-ribs kind of food. Portions are great and priced well. The pancakes all have a slight vanilla kick to the batter and they always come out perfect. The oven baked omelette is huge and piping hot. They are fluffy and delicious! The apple pancake and its smaller version, the apple baby, are both worth the wait. The staff always provides a disclaimer when ordering it since it takes 30 min to cook. Trust me, the time will fly and you won't think twice when it comes to your table. All of your fears will disappear when you see the sight of it. One is big enough to feed 2 people easily. (Maybe even more)
(5)Richard M.
It is called the pancake house for a reason. Their pancakes, waffles, crepes and shells are wonderful. Coffee is great also. However, stay away from the eggs. They can't cook eggs to save their lives. Not sure why, as eggs are not difficult. But they just don't know how to make decent eggs. Also, the home fries are simply terrible. They are not home made, but are obviously from frozen packs. They are tasteless and chewy. Stick with the non-egg choices and you will be happy.
(3)Dani M.
My fiancé and I went to this place . The staff were moping the tables where we were eating and the mop was smelling to a point we had to switch tables . I think it's not proper to mop near where customers are eating . After we moved because of the smell . The waiter was trying to rush us to eat and leave . It was not a good experience for us.
(1)Chris P.
Eat the pancakes obviously! Service is always attentive...refill your coffee on the spot!
(4)Katie C.
This place is extremely popular so anticipate a wait but it's worth it. Their strawberry pancakes are life changing. The whipped cream is like no other. Always quick service and attentive. When you go, ask for Lauren's section. On a busy Saturday morning we never waited for refills because she checked on us frequently.
(5)Karin R.
The most delicious crepes, omelettes, eggs Benedict, bacon, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The Dutch Baby is my favorite (but it takes a while to prepare). I've been eating at this restaurant for many years, beginning at the Palmetto/Beracassa site. I prefer the Boca site - very clean, and in a strip mall, so I can stroll around and window shop or stop in at T.J.Maxx and other clothing stores before or after the dining experience. Warning - do not eat at this restaurant on weekends unless you arrive late in the afternoon. It is so popular that you may have a 30-45 minute wait, and it is overwhelming for the servers and guests, with screaming children and crabby, hungry people, reminiscent of Disney World in the summer. That is to be expected when people have to wait so long to be seated and served in any restaurant. I prefer going at 2 or 3 in the afternoon when it is quiet, and the servers are less stressed and more attentive.
(5)Julie T.
This location has a nice large parking lot in a calm location. The diner is large inside and tends to be noisy. When it gets crowded, you won't be able to hear yourself think (especially if kids are around - which is guaranteed about 85% of the time). The food is great, they have one of the best pancakes around, and the smallest stack of pancakes you can get is 3. Some items on the menu are pretty pricey. The omelets are like big, fluffy dinosaur eggs. I've never had one but they look great. The service is good and friendly. Just make sure you don't come here on weekends (especially Sunday) after 9AM or you'll have a wait.
(3)Rita B.
First time here. We were seated immediately. Friendly staff, and great server. Our server was on point, always checking on us, beverages, napkins, asking if we are OK. If I could only remember her name! I had the eggs, hashbrowns and potatoes - everything was cooked great, not OILY or GREASY at all. The portions were great. Their Orange Juice is FRESHLY SQUEEZED, it was great! I love the pulp in my OJ, so I loved their OJ! The wait for the food, was no more than 15 minutes.
(4)Beth M.
With so many amazing breakfast options in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to choose this one. I do think many of the menu items like the crepes and eggs benedict sound awesome; sadly they don't deliver the awesome. The food is relatively satisfying. It's a busy location too. Waiting for food that's par at best is annoying. Some items like omelets take about 20/30 minutes to bake (boo, too long). I will say they are really on top of their coffee levels here and that's a big plus for me! Beth's Tip: Fresh squeezed OJ is delicious.

This restaurant has some of the worst policies. I will never eat at the Original Pancake House, ever again. I would never recommend this restaurant. I was in the mood for some breakfast on Tuesday at around 1:00 pm. I wanted to get some takeout, so I called them to place the order. The woman working there told me that I can't place a takeout order unless I give her my credit card number over the phone. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Its not like I was placing an order for $100, I wanted a meal that would have cost $10. I will never give some lady my credit card number over the phone, so she can write it down and have it disappear. How could a restaurant expect that someone would ever give a credit card number over the phone. I mean this place is nit a high end 4 star restaurant. The whole situation was very shady, I will make sure to tell everyone not to go to the Original Pancake House. Best part is this is not the first issue I've had with place. There was a Sunday evening around 5:00 pm, I went into to order some takeout. There was not ONE customer in the whole place. The ladies, working there were doing absolutely nothing, they told me I couldn't get takeout because it was the weekend. They do let you get takeout on the weekend, now I understand if you are they're during busy times, but there was not one customer there. They really don't do anything for the customer. Awful policies, save your money go to a restaurant that actually cares about their custoners. There used to be an Original Pancake House in Boynton Beach, I wonder why they went out of business. .. a lot of them have closed. Perhaps they don't care, they have bad policies and the food is only alright. Don't go there, there are much better breakfast places in south florida!

Came here with 2 friends from out of town. I forgot how busy a breakfast place could be during high season in Boca Raton at 9:30 am. OOPS. Thankfully, it was a quick wait - 15-20 minutes - before we were promptly seated. We had a nice older lady serve us and offered us their freshly squeezed orange juice by pointing out the super cool machine they use. One of us was sold. I ordered the oven baked omelette - this thing is HUGE. I made my own with cheddar and bacon. It was tasty but could have been infused with a little more flavor. My bad though, I should have added grilled onions. My friend had chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon and her boyfriend had a chocolate (could have been nutella, not entirely sure) and strawberries with a side order of bacon. My friend could barely polish off three of her SIX pancakes and the crepe was done within minutes. The food was delicious and reasonably priced; however, the customer service was lacking. The nice older lady serving us was hard to track down and my water glass was always empty (I'm quite thirsty and I definitely need more than 2 midget size glasses of 3/4-filled ice water every meal). -1 star. I'm glad they changed locations - this one is much nicer, cleaner and has a more open floorplan.

Are you kidding me? Since when did breakfast for 2 run $40? This place is different than other locations as it is a franchise. What does that mean to you? It means you'll pay $6.50 for a side of corned beef hash! A side of "Real" syrup is $2.50 extra. Thanks but no thanks- I'll stick with the corporately-owned locations in the future.

So much for going early to beat the crowd. We sat right down, but our waitress was horrible. Glaciers look like Jesse Owens compared to her, and her selective hearing kept her on her own little track, but people without their coffee and food. We all kept trying to get her attention as she drifted through the room in her personal fog. The food is okay, not great, and getting progressively more expensive. Breakfast for two was $35 with two dishes, a side of canadian bacon, and two drinks. I can make better at home, wait less, and have better service. The management needs to step this place up a whole big notch.
(3)David R.
The place is solid. Huge menu. Huge crowds. Nice waitstaff, if not slammed, but always attentive and doing their best. My biggest gripe and the rationale for only 3 stars? Value. In my particular instance, we've a daughter that loves chocolate pancakes. You know, the type of love that equates to: "I'll literally do anything for a chocolate pancake" kinda love. Me? I'm into a bowl of oatmeal. You get the picture. So we eat at the OPH weekends upon weekends and then decide - let's get to IHOP down the street and clarify what the difference is. At the end of the day, it's about portion, quality and price. And with our limited menu requirements (after all - a chocolate pancake is pretty much just that - a CHOCOLATE PANCAKE)...both places get it right. But IHOP is less $, there's a lot less hassle (in and out, crowds, pretention, etc.), and everyone's just as happy. Now if I could get either place to stop charging nearly $5 for a bowl of oatmeal. I swear, I'll bring my own and ask for hot water...

Love the Swedish pancakes!! They are huge and light fluffy and crispy around the edges they come out perfect every time. They are so big they hang off the side of the plate. Can get busy on the weekend but if your a small party (2-4 people) you can usually get a table and service pretty fast. Omelets are huge and the sourdough pancakes are amazing as well. Get a side of Bacon and a cup of their good coffee and you will be set for the day.

A little sad on the inside but big portions.

We were in town for vacation and I required a 'real breakfast' meal with pancakes. I did a quick YELP search and found this location - we decided to give it a go. We got right in - no wait...(hmmm should we worry?) NO actually the place is huge! We were quickly seated and I received my morning joe in a blink of an eye!...Service was great..... I decided to have the Blue Berry Pancakes...with a side of bacon....I am a big guy...but it was hard for me to walk away after this delicious meal.....however, the hi-lite of the trip had to be the Rueben Sandwich that my spouse had.....it looked great...and I was fiercely envious!...she battled me for a that bad boy! It took a bit of a wait for our meal to be served. ....and worth the wait...however, if you are expecting to fly through here like Mickey D's forget it!

What a disappointment for the most part. Their signature product -- the pancake -- just was not up to snuff. They tasted a bit funky to me, but maybe I expecting something closer to an IHOP pancake which I happen to really enjoy. Others in my party did enjoy the pancakes and was happy that they did -- especially my little boy who enjoyed the strawberry and whip cream covered pancakes. I enjoyed their egg "skillet" dish which is a combination of eggs, potatoes, cheese and peppers. And their bacon was tasty, thick sliced and very tasty as well. The coffee was also plenty hot and tasty. Not the best place for breakfast, but not the worst either, and is worth a try for at least their egg dishes.
(3)Alex N.
Two Words Apple Pancake Well Actually Lester Highet's Original Apple Pancake Anyways, I have never ordered anything else there - it is just too good. I eat it over 2 days since it is so large. Otherwise, their whipped cream is great, and the hot chocolate as well. Their pancakes are good, so are their omelets. Overall, one of the most filling and satisfying breakfasts I have ever had And they now offer Brinner (Breakfast for Dinner) for all the people who love that.
(5)Carl Z.
Ok place. I was expecting more. Kind of bland taste.
(3)Mary A.
Fabulous food. Loved the apple pancake. It looked too gooey and sweet in the picture but it was just right. Flavorful not too sweet and had a custard like tender texture. They said it would be a 30 minute wait, only took 20. Well worth the wait. Service was excellent. They were even giving free samples of strawberry cheesecake but I was too full. Restaurant was very clean. Great kosher salami in the omelet. Found it by google search. Happy accident.

You will leave here full! food is excellent, service is good as well. there are some real gut busters here, like 3000 calories stuffed french toast, or apple turnover thing. good pick for breakfast!

The 49er flap jacks and the Dutch Baby are my favorites. Great service and great food. 5 star pancake house - I love it!

Pancakes are serious business at this, the Original Pancake House. I do not really understand why a place that is the original pancake house would be located in a strip center, or why the founding members of the restaurant would deem it necessary to add "original" to a place's title before there even existed known imitators. I do not know the above two things, but what i do know is that the pancakes and the french toast at this place are amazing. I had some blueberry pancakes the last time I went here. Now, I have had a number of versions of blueberry panacakes, from frozen to homemade, but I have never, ever seen as many blueberries fit into a pancake as the people at the "Original Pancake House" were able to do. I used the accompanying blueberry compote, however, I am still questioning that decision. This place is located in a kind of crappy strip mall, but it is PACKED on a Saturday morning. I think I got there a touch before 11am, and the wait was a half an hour. The place is so good, apparently, that people in Florida are willing to wait outside, even in the August sun. Practically unheard of.
(5)Jessilyn P.

(4)Rebecca S.

Always a great breakfast here. Good selection. I love the pancakes. One of my favorite breakfast locations. It's just always busy.
(5)Jennie F.

STAY AWAY!

I actually really like coming here for breakfast. Their pancakes are really tasty and so are the sides. Service is always consistent, quick, and friendly.

Unique breakfast items, breakfast served all day, quality ingredients, staff knows what they're doing. It's delicious.

Ok place. I was expecting more. Kind of bland taste.
